Chevrolet Reliability

Although there are certainly a variety of factors involved in the process of shopping for your next used car, one of the most important is the peace of mind that comes from knowing your vehicle still has many trouble-free years ahead of it. Reliability and dependability are two of the most commonly desired attributes for any used car purchase. After all, nobody wants to find themselves stranded on the side of the road from a breakdown or hit with an expensive unexpected repair bill.

Consistently, the Chevrolet model lineup receives top praise and recognition from critics all across the automotive industry. To help demonstrate how Chevy continues to lead the pack when it comes to reliability, our team at Schumacher Chevrolet of Little Falls has assembled this informative guide. It's easy to see why more and more drivers are making the switch to Chevrolet.

J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS)

Each year, the team of experts at J.D. Power conducts their annual U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). Now in its 32nd year, this study examines the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old vehicles. In total, the survey covers 177 different problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN); engine/transmission; exterior; interior; features/controls/displays (FCD); driving experience; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and seats.

For 2021, Chevrolet received a total of 3 individual segment awards, tied for the most among all brands represented in the VDS. On top of those honors, Chevrolet ranked far above the industry average for vehicle dependability. If you're searching for a brand that's known for proven dependability, look no further than Chevrolet.

Kelley Blue Book - Best Resale Value Awards

In addition to long-lasting build quality and reliability, another critical component of any used car purchase involves considering its future resale value. After all, purchasing a vehicle is often second only to buying a house in terms of how large the purchase actually is. That's exactly why it makes sense to choose a vehicle with a proven track record for maintaining its value in the long run.

Kelley Blue Book, one of the industry's most trusted names in automotive valuation, conducts its annual Best Resale Value Awards to determine standout models in their respective segments. In 2020, there were three Chevrolet vehicles that received top honors in their categories.

Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own information is developed using Kelley Blue Book® Residual Values to calculate depreciation costs. Other factors include fuel, maintenance, insurance, and more.

For 2020, a trio of Chevrolet models were recognized for their outstanding 5-year cost-to-own performance. It's yet another reason that choosing a used Chevy is something that both your head and heart can agree on.
