About the Chevrolet Tahoe

Tahoe is a nameplate with a long history, and with a fresh redesign, it carries on as one of the most capable SUVs on the market. The Chevrolet Tahoe uses body-on-frame construction for unparalleled toughness, and V8 power comes standard. Not only that, but the Tahoe is one of only a couple of US-market SUVs with an available diesel engine, an option that can turn an average towing vehicle into an excellent one all by itself. Not that you need to tow anything at all in order to take a lot of cargo with you in a Tahoe, thanks to a maximum cargo capacity of 122.7 cubic feet. Or you can confidently load it with people, thanks to the advanced safety technology found in the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Chevrolet Tahoe

What the Critics Say

"The Tahoe was already dominant in its segment. Chevrolet says its full-size SUVs represent 37% of the vehicles sold in that space, and if you add the related GMC Yukon to the mix, the General Motors market share rises to 64%. I understand why, and this iteration is better and more versatile than before." - Edmunds

"We've driven all three of Tahoe's powertrains and found none of them lacking. They are characterized by smooth, relentless power delivery. Although we would be quite satisfied with the base V8, the 6.2-liter V8 upgrade delivers significantly more zip." - Kelley Blue Book

What's New for 2026

There are no changes or updates to the iconic Chevrolet Tahoe for the 2026 model year. This doesn't come as much of a surprise due to the fact that the Tahoe underwent an extensive refresh just last year. Chevrolet Tahoe Features

Chevrolet Tahoe

Class-Leading Capability

The Chevrolet Tahoe is designed to handle a surprisingly large cross-section of uses, from school runs to hauling four-wheelers way out into the wilderness. The Tahoe comes with a standard V8, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. If you're looking for more power, there is an available 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. And if you're looking to do a lot of towing and want to maximize torque, there is the available Duramax® turbodiesel 3.0-liter I6, which produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. All of these engines are incredibly capable and versatile, whether you're towing, off-roading, or highway cruising on a long road trip. For a bit more off-road prowess, check out the Z71 trim, which comes with equipment like 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, aluminum skid plates and recovery hooks, and an Autotrac two-speed active transfer case.

Chevrolet Tahoe Interior

Comfortable Interior

When you need a spacious interior - a really spacious interior - with room for seven adults to not just sit, but sit comfortably, nothing beats a Chevy Tahoe. Even in the world of full-size SUVs, the interior of the Tahoe is exceptionally spacious. When you're looking to haul cargo instead of people, the seats fold down to give you a cavernous 122.7 cubic feet of cargo space. It comes well equipped too, with a standard 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, the biggest in the class, as standard equipment. Heated seats, perforated leather upholstery, and a power-sliding center console are all available to dial up the comfort of this already impressive interior. And if you really want to be impressed, the available Bose® 10-speaker Surround with CenterPoint® stereo delivers an audiophile-grade listening experience.

Chevrolet Tahoe Super Cruise

Advanced Safety

The Tahoe has been so popular for so long because it's so impressively capable, but Chevrolet has found ways to use technology to add to the proven capability that has been a trademark of the Tahoe since its introduction. Even for day-to-day tasks, things like standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make listening to music and making hands-free phone calls a breeze. Available Magnetic Ride Controlâ„¢ and the available four-corner adaptive air suspension deliver an incredibly smooth ride, which pairs nicely with the comfortable interior. Tech to help you tow is of course available too, including advanced features such as a Trailer Tire Health monitor, and a Trailer Navigation mode, which factors in the size of your trailer and clearance when calculating your route. The Tahoe also has available Super Cruise, a hands-free form of cruise control that lets you sit back and relax, so you can arrive at your destination refreshed.
