The Chevy Tahoe Vs. the Toyota Sequoia and Ford Expedition-Which One Has your Attention?

In the world of full-sized SUVs, many different makes and models are vying for your attention. Because you're the star of the show. It's like being on a dating show where there's 10 or 12 people trying to win a date with one person. Except, well, this isn't a TV show. And there aren't 10-12 bachelors or bachelorettes trying to get your attention. But we've got something better.

Three full-sized SUVs dying to get your attention. And in this case, the SUVs would probably turn out better than the handful of men or women trying to get your attention. Maybe. The Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia, and Ford Explorer are ready to battle it out for your love and affection. Which one will you take home?

Interior Design

Chevy Tahoe

The Chevy Tahoe flaunts its spacious cabin with 36 inches of head- and legroom in all three rows. That's top-notch passenger space for full-sized families in Little Falls. Each adult or child can fit comfortably in either row with the standard body-contouring cloth seats. The Chevy Tahoe is doing its best to "woo" you along. But it turns up the heat a little more with upgrades. On trim levels like the High Country, you'll have perforated leather first- and second-row seats, soft-touch surfaces, and temperature-controlled front seats with massage capability.

Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia vies for your attention with more than 33 inches of legroom in each row and a 6-inch sliding and power-folding third row. Heated cloth-trimmed front seats are some of the basic features of the Toyota Sequoia. But if you're looking for more, the Sequoia offers upgrades like ventilated temperature-controlled seating, front row and massage features, premium leather upholstery, and a panoramic moonroof.

Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is ready to present its case for your affection. It offers 36 inches of legroom in every row with the standard three-seat, second-row bench option for each trim. That setup will allow eight passengers inside your cabin. But if you don't need additional passenger space, you can exchange the second-row bench with a couple of second-row captain's chairs. Trim-specific upgrades include leather seating with massage capability.

Technology and Safety

Chevy Tahoe

The Chevy Tahoe's first row is highlighted by a dazzling 10.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and multiple USB ports at the entry-level LS trim. You can upgrade your enjoyment in Wayne, NJ, with features like a premium Bose stereo system and dual 12.6-inch display monitors mounted in the second row. Safety and driver's assistance features include forward collision alert, lane-keeping assistance, and front pedestrian braking.

Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia offers an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and hands-free Bluetooth connections in entry-level models. With an upgrade to the correct trim, drivers will have a 14-inch touchscreen and hand-free connectivity via Bluetooth®. Various upgrades include a wireless charger, a second-row entertainment system, and a digital rearview mirror. Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5 has driver's assistance upgrades like rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and braking assistance alerts.

Ford Expedition

The Sync4 technology powers the Ford Expedition's entertainment. The entry-level model has a 12-inch infotainment screen with Apple and Android connectivity. Upgrading your Ford Expedition trim level will include a vertical 15.5-inch infotainment screen and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Other trim-specific upgrades include a 22-speaker premium Bang&Olufsen stereo and a rear seat entertainment system. The Ford Expedition also features standard driver assistance features like forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking.

Performance

Chevy Tahoe

The Chevy Tahoe is ready to perform. And it will gracefully carry you and your family with the standard 5.3L V8. It delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L V8 brings more to the table with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The Chevy Tahoe is the only one of the three that offers a 3.0L diesel 6-cylinder engine for max towing power of 7,900 lbs. in Paterson, NJ. The diesel engine also brings best-in-class fuel efficiency with an EPA-estimated 21/28 MPG city/highway. The Chevy Tahoe also has a trim specifically designed to handle your off-road adventures. The Z71 features the 5.3L V8, a heavy-duty air filter, a 2-speed transfer case, front-rear tow hooks, a front skid plate, adaptive suspension, and more.

Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia's powertrain features the i-FORCE MAX technology. The standard 3.4L twin-turbo V6 is combined with an electric motor to produce 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. Towing capacity rounds out at 9,520 lbs. when properly equipped. The Sequoia also offers multiple drive modes to handle various weather and terrain in Hawthorne and West Caldwell.
