Compare the Chevy Trailblazer with the Mazda CX-30

For every Chevy Trailblazer, there's a Mazda CX-30 looking to outclass Chevy's small SUV. While the Mazda CX-30 is an attractive competitor, it can't outmatch what the Chevy Trailblazer brings to the journey. We'll give you a quick comparison of the two so you can see how the Chevy Trailblazer stacks up against a rival SUV.

Exterior Design

Chevy Trailblazer

The new Chevy Trailblazer has a modern take on what a new 2025 SUV should look like. Slim LED lights, sweeping character lines across the side panels, fender flares, and a bodacious front grille top off the visual appeal of your Chevy Trailblazer. For another dose of style, the sporty RS trim tag teams a high gloss Black mesh grille with RS badging and 19-inch high-gloss Black machined aluminum wheels. Add the available two-tone colorway, and you've got a modern SUV that matches your passion for fun in Paterson, NJ.

Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 is a no-frills, buttoned-up SUV that keeps a minimalist mindset. The CX-30 blends in with an angular front hood and classic Mazda grille with the emblem tucked neatly in the top center. LED lights adorn the front end, while available LED lighting brings awareness to the rear end. Upgrading to a higher trim level will feature a Black accented grille and durable black roof rails. The 16-inch wheels are standard, while available 18-inch wheels come on higher trims.

Interior Design and Technology

Chevy Trailblazer

The Trailblazer makes room for five inside the cabin with cloth upholstery and heated front passenger and driver's seats for the entry-level model. The standard 8.5-foot max cargo length creates a versatile cargo area, while the available hands-free liftgate creates an easier way to load and unload your gear in West Caldwell. Upgrading to a higher trim will unlock EvoTex upholstery. The 11-inch diagonal color touchscreen is included with every trim along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone connections. Upgrades include a wireless charging pad, Bose® sound system, and more.

Mazda CX-30

We will tip our hats to the interior design of the Mazda CX-30. The five-passenger cabin features cloth-trimmed sports seats for entry-level models. Upgrading to a higher trim will reveal leatherette-trimmed or Terracotta leather-trimmed sport seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. The 8.8-inch infotainment center is the base-level offering, along with Apple and Android compatibility. However, you'll need to climb up a few trims to receive the larger 10.25-inch display and in-cabin navigation.

Fuel Economy and Performance

Chevy Trailblazer

Each Chevy Trailblazer is powered by a 1.3-liter turbo engine with an EPA-estimated 29/33 MPG city/highway. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard drivetrain, but optional all-wheel drive (AWD) can be added to any trim. The capability to trek through mud, snow, and rain in Hawthorne increases with the ACTIV trim. You'll enjoy off-road suspension tuning, a functional skid plate, three drive modes, and dual-outlet exhaust with trapezoidal polished tips.

Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 has two engines available throughout the trim lineup. One is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5 DOHC 4-cylinder engine that offers an EPA-estimated 26/33 MPG city/highway. The other is a Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine of the same size with an EPA-estimated 22/30 MPG city/highway. The i-ACTIV AWD® is available throughout the trim.
