Performance

Chevy Colorado

These mid-sized competitors won't have what it takes to keep up with the Chevy Colorado in West Caldwell. And we'll prove it. The turbocharged 2.7L inline-four-cylinder engine is common to all trims. And although every Colorado trim has the same engine, they're not all created equal. The WT and LT have 237 horsepower and 259 lb.-ft. of torque, the Z71 and Trail Boss have 310 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, and the top ZR2 delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque. And if you need to rescue your friend's stalled car in Paterson, NJ, Max towing for the Colorado is 7,700 lbs. Available off-road features include 35-inch tires, a factory-installed lift, a wider chassis, and 5 Baron Steel skid plates for best-in-class underbody protection.

Toyota Tacoma

The Toyota Tacoma does its best to keep up with the Colorado. But it falls a bit short. The standard four-cylinder engine squeaks out 159 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. But a slightly more powerful 3.5L V6 is available with 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. Off-roading is best left to the Tacoma TRD Pro. It includes a factory-lifted suspension, huge shock absorbers, and available 18-inch wheels. With the right upgrades and options, Toyota Tacoma will pull up to 6,800 lbs. and carry up to 1,685 lbs. in the flatbed.

Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger is more powerful than the Tacoma but still comes up short with the Colorado. The standard 2.3L EcoBoost is standard with 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. Customers looking for more off-road prowess will look for the Ford Ranger XLT. It accompanies 8.9 inches of ground clearance and a Terrain Management System that will fine-tune their commute across rocky terrain. The max towing capacity tops out at 7,500 lb. with best-in-class payload of 1,905 lbs.

Interior Design

Interior Design

Chevy Colorado

Every Chevy Colorado near Wayne, NJ, comes with a standard four-door crew cab configuration. And Chevy decided to redesign the center console to create more space with a driver-centric cockpit. Upgrades for your Chevy Colorado include synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a rear center armrest.

Toyota Tacoma

The Toyota Tacoma has room for up to five passengers. Cloth seats and four-way manual front seats accompany the entry-level trim. And with a trim upgrade or optioned package, customers can add leather upholstery, heated front seats with 10-way power adjustments, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Ford Ranger

The entry-level Ford Ranger will offer front bucket seats and premium cloth upholstery with room for five. The interior cabin is well-designed with soft-touch materials along the door and dash and body-contouring seats in the front and rear. Customers can upgrade the Ford Ranger to include leather upholstery and power-adjustable heated front seats.
